Jesper Fast – Has his season come to an end?

Jesper Fast suffered from a shoulder injury on December 14th, 2018, causing him to miss 5 games.  It has been 3 months since and he still hasn’t recovered.

The 28-year-old, injury prone Swede has likely played his last game the season in the Rangers recent loss to the Detriot Red Wings. After toughing it out for some time, coach Quinn has decided that “We don’t want to put anybody in harm’s way.”

Fast has won the Players’ Player award the past 3 years and is the fourth senior Ranger. But he is not playing up to expectations as the forward has 20 points in 66 games. These numbers could easily be a product of injury.

With the Rangers lost playoff hopes, it is easy to sideline Fast and give the youth a chance to play. All of New York will have high hopes for him when he returns, and the Blueshirts need him to meet them.
